Rick is a San Diego native, making his first public appearance in 1968 playing In a Gadda da Vida (Iron Butterfly) and other contemporary rock with Orc at an amusement park in Mission Valley.

From 1979-1986 Rick made his living booking and playing with RPM (San Diego's Rock Band of the Year 1982), opening for the Scorpions (World Wide Live Tour). Afterward, Rick began free lancing with yet another version of RPM, hosting a weekly Blues Jam at The Landing in Pt. Loma.

He then moved on with Junction 52, The Agents, Southern Gold and The Country Aces (Country Band of the Year 1992). As a founding member of Blues Kitchen, Rick brings a wide library of influences to the stage. From his early days playing along with Herb Alpert (Tijuana Brass) and the Beach Boys to the Mercy Beat of the Beatles, the Stones, Gerry & the Pacemakers and R&B from the 50s, jazz, country and blues, he delivers enthusiastic and solid rhythm to Blues Kitchen.
